We’ve got a jam packed meeting for you guys this month! Come join us at Atlas Public House for a chat on sanitizing/ sterilizing best practices with Brant from Departed Soles.
Stay for a Show and Tell – bring anything interesting or cool related to home brewing to show off to the group. Something you made, something you found, something you bought. Plus we’ll have our New England IPA brewers duel.
And lastly, we’ll be doing a bit more planning for our September Walking Tour, as well as some more casual events over the summer. Hope to see you there!
Hey everyone, if you’re interested in hosting for our club’s Walking Tour please email us at email@example.com. We are looking to schedule this for early or mid September. If you have not participated before, we usually have two groups of 20 people and visit four locations. You should be in Jersey City, Hoboken, or Bayonne and be accessible by public transportation preferably. It’s a nice day of walking, drinking, talking, and (hopefully) sunny weather.
The club provides snacks, cups, ice, and can provide additional beer if needed. It’s a fun way to show off your brewing setup and your beers on tap, and it’s a great fundraiser for the club.
We actually ended up with 102 hops, because we are bad at counting. Bottling day will be Thursday May 10th, at Craig’s house (if you came to brew day, it is the same location), by the intersection of 1st St and Madison Ave in Hoboken. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or check out the facebook group.
As a reminder, if you helped out on brew day, you will get a bottle to take home, and if you help out on bottling day you’ll get another bottle to take home. The rest of the bottles will be distributed or shared at another time.
This month’s meeting is at our regularly scheduled time and place (Atlas Pub at 7:30PM), but we are also having our annual elections. The club will be buying some platters of food as a thank you to everyone that shows up to vote.
You do not need to be a dues-paying member to attend the meeting.
We will also be judging the Brewer’s Duel using hot pepper.
Our March 19th meeting will be at our usual spot. We have some exciting stuff this month, so do your best to attend.
Agenda for the March Meeting:
- Nominations for officers (elections in April)
- Kombucha Q&A with a professional kombucha maker. Please comment on Facebook or email us (email@example.com) if you would like a free scoby, and comment if you have any topics you’d like to cover.
- Brewery Bus Trip on April 7th (tell your friends to buy tickets!)
- Group brew – 100 Hop IPA – scheduling and hop discussion
- National Homebrew Competition submission period – shipping & drop-offs start 3/19. Kendall will be driving submissions out to Fifth Hammer Brewing if you want to avoid shipping.
Don’t forget that our meetings are now on the 3rd MONDAY of each month at Atlas Pub (by the Grove St PATH). This month we’re going to discuss our upcoming Brewery Bus Trip on April 8th (member pre-sale starts this week). We’ll also talk about upcoming homebrew events like this weekend’s Fermentation Festival. This month we’ll also finally judge the Scotch Ales brewed for the Brewer’s Duel!
Poll for our April 7th Brewery Bus Trip! All of these breweries are on approximately the same route, so the travel time will be the same regardless. Now we need member feedback on where the club should visit. Also note that Czig Meister and Manskirt are across the street from each other.

The Jersey City Brew Club is having our holiday party on Friday 12/15, starting at 7PM! We’re going to have a fun night of food and drinks with friends and brewers. Even if you’ve never come to a meeting before, you are welcome to join us to make some new friends and try some great homebrew.
Feel free to bring along any brews you want to share – food dishes are welcome too! The party will be at a club member’s house by Journal Square Square – by the intersection of Vroom St and Summit Ave. For the exact address, please join the JCBC Facebook Group, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
