October’s meeting will be at our usual time and place – 7:30PM at Atlas Public House in the back room. This month our meeting’s theme is chili peppers! During last month’s meeting we discovered that several members are growing chili peppers and making hot sauces and other fun things. If you have some hot sauce, chili paste, or other fun spicy stuff you’ve made, please bring some to share at this month’s meeting!
This month’s Brewer’s Duel is a Peach Saison, and we’ll be trying out a new judging sheet which intends to give better feedback to the brewers.
Finally, the Sunday after our meeting (10/21 @ 2pm) the club will be hosting a Hop and Malt Tasting. This will be a great sensory training experiment and recipe formulation learning experience. We are going to dry hop lager with different hops and compare the aroma and flavor profiles. We’ll also steep different base and specialty malts and see what flavor profiles different malts add to a beer.
